Born in Cleveland, Ohio, I've lived in the eastern suburbs of Cleveland for most of my life. I attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio, earning a B.A. in English Writing. After a year living in Oakland, California, I attended Kent State University where I obtained my Master's of Library Science degree. I never worked in a library, instead finding my first professional position at a small legal publishing company. After several corporate buyouts, I now work for a multi-national company, still doing the same type of work: indexing the laws of Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and several other states. It's a job I've always enjoyed as I get to see what the concerns are in the different states, and indexing is a constant learning experience and intellectual challenge.
I met my husband in 1991 and we married in 1993. He often listened to me read my books aloud and over the years came up with some good suggestions. Unfortunately he suffered from diabetes throughout our marriage. He died in November 2005, just before reaching his 39th birthday.
Although I've been writing novels since high school, I began studying the romance genre seriously in 2001. I joined RWA and its Northeast Ohio chapter (NEORWA). Through NEORWA, I've met a lot of great people, including my wonderful critique partners. If you're not in a critique group, I urge you to find one. Mine has helped me a great deal.
Since 2001, I've written several contemporary romances. Then I had an idea for a paranormal. I discovered that's what I really enjoyed writing. I've had some success with RWA chapter contests and several of my books are currently under consideration with publishers.
I enjoy fixing up my 1920's house, listening to music, playing with my two black lab-type dogs, drawing and painting, and reading.
